PRODUCT OF THE DAY!
The new, simpler, smaller and cheaper CLEARPRINT 24-32, shrink wrapper series no longer cuts the film in advance. The CLEARPRINT perforates (patent-pending) the film precisely on the print-registration mark, or to the needed length on random print and clear film. The web is continuous throughout and is being perforated in the immediate vicinity of the conveyor and on the product. As a consequence, lack of rigidity (with film under 2 mil) and static electricity are no longer a concern, the co. says. The new system eliminates the need for a knife to cut the film and a vacuum belt to pull forward the individual pieces of film. Available infeed modules include flood feed for round products, a divider for square products and side infeed for smaller products. Single-lane machines can perform up to 60 wraps/min. while dual lane machines can operate at double that speed.

The new Bio- Wrapper is said to be the world's first shrink-wrapper series built specifically for use with biodegradable, compostable PLA shrink film. The series was developed to accommodate the lower shrink temperatures of PLA and can produce both total-closure (form/fill/seal) retail packs and bullseye wraps for distribution applications. The machine uses EarthFirst(R) brand PLA film from Plastic Suppliers, Inc., made from NatureWorks LLC's PLA resin. Features of the machine include the ability to produce ultra-high-clarity shrink wraps in nearly any product configuration and an all-stainless-steel construction for easy cleaning. The Bio-Wrapper is engineered as a complete unit with a double-insulated shrink tunnel that is said to reduce energy consumption.

Polypack worked in collaboration with Plastic Suppliers, Inc., Earth-First® PLA film, made with NatureWorks® PLA resin to develop a series of shrink packaging machines capable of running Earth-First® PLA film.
Bio-Wrapper Series runs a large variety of products and multipacks them in PLA biodegradable and compostable shrink film. Biodegradable and compostable shrink packages are ideal for multipacking any product including organic products, environmentally friendly materials, and any other items.

The ROKH™ is an all-in-one system that uses a robotic arm to pick products from an infeed conveyor and place them directly onto a shrink film for bundling. In intermittent or continuous modes, the system is reportedly rated to 200 bundles/min, using one conveyor to transport product through the sealing and shrinking process. Products reportedly can be split, stacked, rotated and collated into virtually any desired configuration, with interchangeable grippers providing versatility to pick up products of various shapes and sizes.

PRODUCT OF THE DAY
The FIL series of total-closure shrink wrappers accommodate a variety of products, including paper rolls and stacks of knocked-down corrugated boxes. The equipment provides total-closure wrapping though the use of f/f/s modules (forming heads). It features in-line production suited for large, heavy or over-length products, such as rolls of paper. It has production rates up to 15 wraps/min, depending on the product's dimensions.
