"We wanted to eliminate paperboard from our packages, and this machine can run most of our bottles, even in 24 packs, without trays or pads," says Walsh. "I've worked with Polypack for a number of years, and they've always done an excellent job for me. Their service is great. One morning, my old shrink wrapper's main drive shaft broke, and Polypack machined a new shaft that day and shipped it to me overnight, and we were up and running the next day. Finished cartons are conveyed to a PH-24L bundler from Polypack, Inc.that shrinks multi-pack cartons in six-pack and 12-pack configurations. The PH-24L bundler is an intermittent-motion sleeve wrapper that creates bull's-eyes packaging. It uses a motorized pusher assembly to transfer the products to the wrapping and sealing section. Stabilizing modules and guides facilitate the feeding of unstable products. This shrink wrapper includes gates, barriers and decompression plates to alleviate back-pressure-induced problems when running flexible products. [...] more
"We replaced nine L-bar systems with this equipment, and it has worked out great for us," says Rains. "With all of the products that we run, versatility is very important to us, and this is the only piece of equipment that I know of that can run different size products without any changeover time.
